The Love Detroit Prevention Coalition (LDPC) was recognized by the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy as an outstanding prevention partner in 2024! We were also rewarded with Prevention Partner of the Year by DWIHN!
The Love Detroit Prevention Coalition was recognized as an outstanding substance abuse prevention coalition by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) and awarded the 2019 CADCA Chairman’s Award.
The Love Detroit Prevention Coalition Youth Committee successfully shut down a marijuana dispensary in our community that was not authorized to operate and were recognized with a “Spirit of Detroit” award from Detroit City Councilman Scott Benson and presented about their efforts at a CADCA National Conference to hundreds of people!
LDPC was asked by the Detroit DEA to coordinate bi-annual prescription drug takeback events with our sector partners, the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Health Department, and other Coalitions that resulted in 1,397,971 pills taken out of our community! We focused our takeback efforts on the older adult community.
Members of the LDPC have trained over 6,728 people in Detroit to use Narcan kits we supply to reverse opioid overdoses and have been responsible for over 100 lives saved as a direct result of our efforts.
The Love Detroit Prevention Coalition is the ONLY agency in the country to be certified by Iowa State University to facilitate Strengthening Families: For Parents and Youth 10-14, an evidence-based program, virtually!
